An individual customer’s verification expires after 7 days in Pending or Processed with no progress. Business verifications (KYB) don’t expire. Extend KYC reopens the expired verification and mints a fresh link, so the customer continues where they stopped.

1. Find expired customers

Open Customers and filter Identification Status on Expired. That lists every customer whose verification expired.

2. Open the Compliance Review panel

Expired customers with items still missing sit in Compliance > Incomplete. Search for the customer there and click the row. Requirements shows what they still have to submit.

3. Extend the verification

Click Extend KYC, then Extend in the confirmation dialog. It appears only when the customer’s latest identification is expired, and team members with the Viewer role can’t use it. The identification goes back to Pending with a fresh verification link. The customer has another 7 days of activity before it expires again. This works for an expired EDD verification too. Trigger EDD is hidden for a customer already in EDD, so Extend KYC is how they get back into the EDD flow. The customer is now in the same state as a stalled onboarding. Send them the KYC & Terms link with the Help your customer message, as in Resume a stalled onboarding.
If the dashboard shows Failed to extend identification, the verification can’t be reopened. Click Create new KYC instead: the customer starts again from the beginning, and the expired identification stays in the history. See Resolve rejected documents.

Do it over the API

Extend KYC has no public endpoint today, so expired customers can’t be extended in bulk over the API. The API alternative is a new identification, which starts the customer over: Subscribe to the identification_status webhook to hear when a verification expires, and send your customer a reminder before the 7 days run out.
