Customer Overview
To begin using MoonPay Enterprise’s services, every customer must complete an onboarding process. This checks compliance with regulatory requirements, validates the Customer’s identity, and establishes their eligibility to trade. The onboarding process is run by the Partner, who acts as the liaison between the Customer and MoonPay Enterprise.Customer onboarded via a Partner (B2B2X)
The Customer is the end entity that indirectly engages with MoonPay Enterprise’s services through a Partner in a B2B2B or B2B2C model. The Customer is the entity using MoonPay Enterprise’s services through the Partner. The Customer is the end-customer who uses MoonPay Enterprise’s services, delivered through a Partner, under a B2B2B or B2B2C setup. Regardless of the onboarding model applied - KYC reliance, KYC outsourcing, or direct onboarding - the Customer is always considered a direct customer of MoonPay Enterprise.Key Points:
- Although the Customer accesses MoonPay Enterprise’s services through a Partner, the legal and compliance relationship is established directly between the Customer and MoonPay Enterprise.
- The Partner helps the Customer access MoonPay Enterprise’s services but does not act as the service provider.
- MoonPay Enterprise remains responsible for the Customer’s compliance oversight, including onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and transaction review - either directly or through reliance/outsourcing arrangements.
Direct Business Customer (B2B)
In a traditional B2B relationship, MoonPay Enterprise provides services directly to a business client, who acts as the end customer. The client uses MoonPay Enterprise’s infrastructure, such as stablecoin payments, on/off-ramps, or wallet services, for its own operational needs. This model is designed for companies using crypto services for internal treasury, payroll, settlement, or back-office functions. A company that also wants to serve its own customers can do so as a Partner under a B2B2B or B2B2C model. See Partner + Direct Customer Relationship below.Key Points:
- A direct commercial relationship exists between MoonPay Enterprise and another business.
- The business (the client) is the end customer of MoonPay Enterprise’s services.
- In a pure B2B relationship, the client uses MoonPay Enterprise for itself. To serve its own customers, it acts as a Partner under a B2B2B or B2B2C model (see below).
- Use Case Example: A fintech company integrates MoonPay Enterprise to access stablecoin rails for its internal treasury operations. It does not offer MoonPay Enterprise’s services to its own clients.
